This is a great, original example of a British WW2 issued wristwatch from a high-quality Swiss maker. It is 31mm in size which makes it mid-size by modern standards, yet this is a very wearable watch with a Bonklip style strap, a strap with wider width past the lugs, or a bund strap.

It has an excellent, legible dial with radium syringe hands and original radium plots added on to the hour markers. The CS(I) marking indicates that the watch was ordered by British forces, to provide it to Civil Service officials operating in the Indian territories. Reliable time keeping wasn’t just necessary for those directly active in the field, timekeeping played a vital role in diplomacy too.

The watch is boxed in a 1940s Omega tan colour box. The case is in very good condition with minimal signs of wear. The case is Stainless Steel and is in good condition, having not been polished. The bezel is in good condition, with a polished finish. The dial is original and is in good condition. The dial is a silvered tone, which has an even patina across the dial, with areas appearing to be grey. There is a railroad track around the extremity of the dial in black and the sub-second dial is sunken into the dial. Its signed clearly with the Omega symbol and name, with Swiss Made either side of the sub-second dial. The hour markers are radium, with stick markers alternating with Arabic numerals. There is light scratching to the silvered finish across the dial, with is visible only on certain angle in sun-light.

The hands are original. They are thermally blued and this has aged slightly meaning its not as bright as it once was. The original Radium lume in-fill sits within the hands and has aged to a deep Orange tone. The crystal appears original but may be a well-matched replacement. It has a very well-fitting dome which sits well within the bezel. The crystal also doesn’t distort any aspect of the dial. The crown is original and is made of brass which has been gold Chrome. It functions as it should. Sadly, the gold plating has worn from the crown.

The exterior of the case back is clean with no signing. It maintains its original circular graining. The case back is made of Stainless Steel and is in very good condition. It has only light surface scratching. Inside, it is signed: 3680, Acier Inoxydable, Omega, Fab Suisse, Swiss Made, 2165, A, CS(I).

The movement is original and is an Omega Cal 26.5 T3 with 15 jewels. It dates to 1944 with the serial number 10,098,559. It has a frequency of 18,000 BPH with a power reserve of 37 hours. The movement is incredibly clean cosmetically. The service history of the watch is not known, and the watch has not been serviced by ourselves. Functionally the movement is very acceptable for a 1940s hand winding movement, with it keeping time to around a 1-minute gain a day.

The strap is an era matched strap that has signs of wear as it is not brand new. It has a beautiful aged medium brown tone to the leather, with the leather remaining supple. Full condition report below.
