Vintage 1940s Art Deco Hamilton watch with cal. 980 movement, 10k GF, Serviced. 
 
A beautiful tank watch with a dial and case in incredible condition. 
 
The cal. 980 movement is reliable and high grade, with typical impressive American finishing.
 
This watch has just been serviced so will serve the wearer well for many years.

Dial: 
The dial is in excellent, original condition. It is a silvered/white colour with no signs of discolouration. 
It is signed with Hamilton at 12 o'clock. The sub second dial is sunk in the middle adding nice depth to the dial. The sub seconds track is clear with no marking or wear, with the sub second hand fitting the margins of the sunk dial well.
The minute and hour track is in strong condition, with no wear to numerals or track. This is in impressive condition for the age.
The gold numerals are all in good condition with no tarnishing.
 
Hands:
The hands are un-bent and un-corroded. 
All hands would appear to be original.
 
Glass:
The glass is original and has been polished but it still has some scratches, as highlighted in the photos.
 
Crown:
The crown is original and fits flush to the case and winds and sets well.
 
Case: 
The case is in strong condition with only a few VERY light surface scratches. 
 
Case back:
Has been polished and grained.
 
Movement:
Serviced by a professional watchmaker and working perfectly.
