1939 Omega stainless steel square tank watch Omega R17.8 - 1st year of movement 

A fine, serviced watch, with a great movement from the 1st year of it's production.

This is a BEAUTIFUL watch. Its proportions and design means that it melts onto your wrist and sits incredibly comfortably. It has it's Omega signed crown too!

The design of the case is exceptional. It is profiled around the glass to hug it neatly. The sides and ends are then curved and fall away from this profiled design. Spend time examining the photographs and zoom in to see it. The glass is original and has a magnificent compound convexed curve to it. This 3 dimensional curve is an excellent part of the design. These are all the reasons why this watch is so great to wear on the wrist.

26mm wide x 27.5mm in length, 33mm lug to lug, 7mm in case depth

There is ageing on the dial which is expected for its age. The Omega symbol and writing is still intact, along with the numerals.
There is a VERY slight ding in the glass at 1 o clock which is also immeasurably small, but it can refract onto the face in certain lights as a small dot.

The watch has been serviced and remains un-polished.
