Here we have a perfect, New old stock example of a 2002 Tag Heuer Link Chronograph which is an Ayrton Senna Limited Edition, numbered 1603/4098. It is the reference CT2115. It has the 42mm stainless steel case with the two chronograph pushers to the right, with the signed screw down crown inbetween. It has the uni-directional rotating bezel which counts down from 60 minutes. 
Around the edge of the dial is the Tachymetre scale. The black dial has the subtle chequered finish across the centre. It has the applied baton hour markers with the 1/5th second/minute track in white around the exterior. There are three sub-dials for the chronograph. The 30 minute counter sits at 12 o’clock with the constant seconds at 9 and the 12 hour recorder at 6 o’clock. They have the polished steel surround with the dished design. The date window sits at 3 o’clock with the off centre Tag Heuer signing to its left with the Senna yellow logo to the centre and ‘Ayrton Senna’ signature below. The hands are of sword style with the luminous in-fill to the centre. The tapered central second yellow, tying in with the Senna logo. This also features on the tip of the 30 minute counter and 12 hour counter. 
The case back screws down and has the ‘Senna’ yellow logo with the limited edition signing and number. It also has the models specifications, reference number and serial number. 
Inside is the Tag Heuer calibre 16 which is an ETA 7750. It is an automatic chronograph movement with a hi-beat rate of 28,800BPH. It is keeping very good time to within 5 seconds variation per day.
 
The watch was purchased on the 15/10/2002 and is number 1603/4098. It was purchased from David Morris International watches, in Selfridges, London. 
 
The watch is in new old stock condition, unworn in its 23 years of existence. It is a full set with the outer box, Senna booklet with photograph, inner box, round leather watch box, instruction booklet and guarantee card. The watch has the original stickers to the clasp and rear. 
 
The partnership:
TAG Heuer has a long standing brand partnership with Senna, beginning in 1988 up until his tragic passing in 1994. Posthumously the Senna Foundation chose to continue the partnership until 2004. The partnership between Senna and his foundation produced five limited edition watches. Partnerships resumed again in 2015. 
 
The first Senna special edition was introduced in 1994 with the TAG Heuer 6000 Senna Limited Edition, with the distinctive Senna S logo. This was the only model created with his involvement due to his death in that year. The dial featured two chequered flag patterns to the top and bottom as a homage to Formula 1. 
 
In 2001 the Tag Heuer Link Senna was released and was a limited run of 1991 watches, a tribute to his last victory in 1991. 
 
In 2002 the Tag Heuer Link Senna CT2115 was produced, limited to 4098 watches, a tribute to the total number of minutes elapsed in the drivers 41 victorious races. The yellow Senna signing highlights the famous colour on his helmet.
