Art Deco Illinois Larchmont 14k WGF case watch, Cal 207 tank watch, recently serviced.
 
This is a rarer, white gold filled model of Larchmont. It is also referred to as the "Vernon" or "Richmond 12/0" when on gold filled bracelet. It was introduced in 1931. The white gold filled models are notorious for being harder wearing than the yellow gold filled examples and this holds true with this case which is in incredible condition with no wear and sharp sides and corners. The bezel, sides and lugs are a plain, polished finish, with the rectangular case being made by Keystone, comprising of two parts, the snap on bezel and back. This was cased in the Illinois factory.
 
The dial is also a rarer variant with a silver finish with black painted drop shadow numerals. The hands are steel, thermally blued. The movement is a size 12/0 grade 207 which has a jewel count of 17.
 
Its retail price new, was $52.50. It featured in many adverts and had compelling marketing themes, stating that it was a "Handsome creation with original appointments and refinements that will appeal to every man", as well as the case "Appearing exceedingly small" and "Fashionably neat".
 
Advertisement first took place in December of 1931 in the Saturday Evening Post, and was shown in the 31/32 Illinois catalogue.

Dial:

Hands:
The hands are steel, thermally blued.
 
Glass:
The glass is original and in excellent condition.
 
Crown:
A good fit to the watch, I can't vouch for it's originality.
 
Case:
A case that is free of wear to the gold fill, no large scratches or dints in the watch.
 
Caseback:
Maintains original graining still, light surface scratching.
 
Strap:
A new 16mm genuine leather strap.
 
Movement:
Serviced, working excellently after a donor movement was used to replace some badly worn parts.
 
Case 23mm x 30mm with 16mm lug width. Lug to lug length is 37mm.
