Here we have a 2020 Longines ‘Master Collection’ Chronograph with moonphase and triple date. It is the reference L2.673.4 which has the 40mm steel case and a blue sunburst dial.
The circular, polished case is well sized with its 40mm width, measuring 43.5mm with crown/pushers. It has a total lug to lug length of 47.25mm. It is a deep watch with a depth of 16.8mm and subsequently wears better than the 42mm variation. To the right-hand side is the crown with the winged hour glass logo, sandwiched between the chronograph pushers.
The polished bezel holds the subtly domed sapphire crystal, protecting the blue sunburst dial. To the exterior is the dished chapter ring with the detailed seconds track, to 1/5th second graduations. The dial is a rich blue with the brushed sunburst which radiates from the centre. It has the white date signing to the outside, with the applied baton hour markers. At 12 o’clock is the 30-minute counter which has the day and month apertures. The constant seconds sit at 9 o’clock with the 24-hour hand. At 6 o’clock is the is the 12-hour counter with the moonphase to the top half. The Longines signing and logo sit at 3 o’clock with the Automatic signing. The hands are of leaf style with the polished finish. The central second hand is of whip style with a subtly curving flow. The date pointer hand extends from the centre with the crescent tip. It is a complicated watch with 8 hands in total!
To the rear is the exhibition back with the Sapphire crystal display. The outside is formed of steel and is marked with the model name and details.
Inside is the Longines calibre L678.2 movement which has 25 jewels and is automatic. It has a Hi-beat rate of 28,800 bph and a 42-hour power reserve. It is complicated, displaying the hours, minutes, small seconds with 24-hour indicator at 9 o’clock. It has the date pointer hand to the centre with half-moon tip. It has the chronograph with central 60 seconds timer and 30-minute counter. The Moonphase sits at 6 O’clock with the 12-hour counter.
The watch is presented on its original Longines stainless steel bracelet with the signed, hidden push button deployment clasp.
The watch was purchased in October 2020 and is a full set with original inner and outer box, swing tag, handbook and warranty card. It comes with an unworn Longines leather strap with signed deployment clasp (L682009818).
The watch was a present and was worn a couple of times. It comes with its full protective stickering.
The movement service history is unknown, but all functions work perfectly and it is keeping accurate time to within 15 seconds per day.
This is a complicated watch, with all the functions you will ever need, which also represents very good value for money on the pre-owned market. The current, slightly upgraded example of this reference retails for £3300.
