For sale we have a 2015 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver, reference 15710ST.OO.A002CA.01. It is watch only, with no box or paperwork. It has the original purchase invoice from the Portuguese Boutique Dos Relogios, Plus Quinta do Lago. 
 
Audemars Piguets watches are admired universally for their complexity, finesse and execution of Haute Horlogerie. The Royal Oak from Audemars Piguet is one of the most recognised and finest horological creations ever. It is immediately recognisable for its mix of brushed and polished finishing, with its octagonal bezel and eight hexagonal screws. 
 
The Royal Oak Offshore came 21 years after the release of the Royal Oak ‘Jumbo’ in 1972. On release, it was criticised for being large, heavy and un-conventional. The legendary Gerald Genta was also unhappy being associated with the new design.
 
Yet this bold design was the correct decision, intersecting with a new generation of clients, who wanted something rugged and sporty. These younger customers swarmed the Offshore, which fit the trend for larger watches. This yearning for large watches has somewhat subsided, yet the Offshore remains one of Audemars Piguets most popular and well-recognised models.
 
The Offshore Diver has a 42mm Stainless Steel case, with a water resistance of 300 meters. It has the traditional Octagonal bezel surrounding the ‘Mega Tapisserie’ textured dial, with the white luminous indexes, edged in polished white gold with matching hands and date window at 3 O’clock. It comes on the sporty and comfortable Audemars Piguet Black rubber strap, with Steel AP buckle. 
This reference has the exhibition case back, which allows you to admire the beauty of the calibre 3120 movement, with the 22ct gold engraved automatic rotor.
 
The watch is genuine, having been inspected by our watchmakers.
 
The watch has not been mollycoddled. It has been used and enjoyed as intended. Therefore, it could benefit from some refurbishment to the bezel, if you are worried about the scratches. If not, it is worn in and good to go. Refurbishment of the case can be arranged via ourselves, if desired. The crown has a slight nick to the rubber.
 
The movement functions within chronometer standards, with a daily variation of +4 seconds a day.
 
Due to the lack of box and papers and the need for slight refurbishment, this is priced to sell. If you desire this reference, but the £15,000 base point is too much, this example could be for you.

Dial: 
The dial is in perfect condition, along with the inner rotating bezel.  
 
Hands: 
The hands are in perfect condition.
 
Glass: 
The sapphire crystal is in perfect condition.
 
Crown: 
The crowns are original. The crown for the inner rotating bezel is good. The winding crown has some marking, with a nick to the rubber. 
 
Case:
The case is Stainless Steel and is in decent overall condition. The sides are clean and crisp with the brushed finish. The top of the watch and lugs have some marking, with the bezel having noticeable marking. It is all perfectly refurbishable with laser welding and refinishing. 
 
Caseback:
The case back is stainless steel, with exhibition back. It is in good condition, with only some subtle surface scratches to the stainless. The exhibition sapphire crystal is in perfect scratching with no marking.
 
Strap: 
The watch comes on correct Audemars Piguet offshore rubber strap, with AP stainless steel buckle. It is a relatively recent strap, judging by the good condition. 
 
Movement: 
The movement is in perfect cosmetic condition.
The movement is an Audemars Piguet Calibre AP 3120. It is an automatic movement, with a jewel count of 40 and a frequency of 21,600 BPH. It has a power reserve of 60 hours, with a date function. The rotor is 22ct gold.
 
The movement service history is unknown, but it is in very good condition and is keeping time to within chronometer standards. It’s keeping time to - 4 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 305 degrees and a beat error of 0.3 m/s.
