Here we have a 2010s Cartier Tank Solo reference 3167 of the ‘Large’ case size, measuring 27mm x 35mm, with the elegant 18ct yellow gold Au750 Tank case. It has the silvered dial with the classic exaggerated radial roman numerals in the black tone. It has the railroad minute track, with the ‘Cartier’ signing below 12 o’clock. To the base of the dial is the ‘Swiss Made’ text with the hidden Cartier signing within the ‘VII’ marker. The hands are thermally blued, of the classic Sword style. The case has the polished finish with the flat top and rounded corners. To the either side are the pair of screws, with the dimpled crown set with the Sapphire cabochon. The case back is stainless steel, held in place with four screws. It has the brushed finish, with the model signing, serial number and model details. Inside is the Cartier calibre 690, which is a Quartz movement. It has a jewel count of 8 and is keeping accurate time, with a new battery fitted. The watch comes in its original Cartier strap, reference KD98BT19. It comes with the 18ct yellow gold hallmarked Cartier buckle.

The dial follows the classic formula associated with the Cartier tank. It has a clean silver base tone with the satin finish. This is a lovely tone which elevates the watch above the usual bright white dial. The roman numeral hour markers have the exaggerated radial layout, pulling towards the corners. Within the ‘VII’ marker is the hidden Cartier signing. The minute track is a classic railroad layout with the radial flow and exaggeration mirroring the hour markers. It has the thicker dashes for the 5-minute graduations. Below 12 o’clock is the ‘Cartier’ signing, with ‘Swiss Made’ to the base of the dial. The hands are of the classic Sword style and have the thermally blued tone which shines brightly in the light.

This is the larger case size of the Tank Solo, measuring 27mm wide by 28mm in length, with the total lug-to-lug measurement reaching 35mm. Despite its increased size it is a comfortable wear due to its slim depth of just over 5mm. The lug width is well sized at 20mm.

The main body of the case is formed of 18ct yellow gold. It has the polished flanks with the satin brushing to the section above and below the dial. The top of the case is flat, with the rounded corners and sides. To the right-hand side is the dimpled crown which is set with the Sapphire cabochon to the tip.

The case back is formed of stainless steel and is held in place with four screws. It has the polished bevels to the top and bottom, with the brushed finish to the main face. It is signed with the Cartier name and the model details ‘Water resistant, Swiss made’. It is marked as ‘Acier/Au750’ which denotes the 18ct gold front body of the case and stainless-steel back. It has the serial number clearly visible and is marked with the reference 3167. Inside the case is signed with the battery sizing.

The movement is the Cartier calibre 690 which is a Quartz movement. It has a jewel count of 8 and is finished with the Cote de Genève finishing. It is a reliable calibre which has recently has a new battery fitted and is keeping accurate time. The service history is unknown.

The strap is the original Black crocodile, with the reference KD98BT19. It is well sized and will fit up to a 20cm wrist diameter. It has the correct Cartier buckle, formed of 18ct yellow gold with the Swiss hallmarking.

The watch is modelled on a 17.8cm wrist circumference.

Dial:
The dial is original and is in excellent condition with no signs of ageing.

Hands:
The hands are original and of sword style. They have the bright thermally blued tone and are in excellent condition.

Glass:
The Sapphire crystal is original and is in excellent condition with no marking.

Crown:
The crown is original. It has light marking associated with age. The Sapphire cabochon is very good, without any chips or damage.

Case:
The case is in good condition. It has signs of wear with light surface scratching. The brushed finish to the top and bottom is good.

Caseback:
The case back is formed of Stainless Steel and has a brushed finish. There are some light scratches associated with wear. The engraving is clear and defined.

Strap:
The strap is the original Black crocodile, with the reference KD98BT19. It is well sized and will fit up to a 20cm wrist diameter. It has had some further, smaller holes punched through by a previous owner. These are somewhat visible from the outside. It has the correct Cartier buckle, formed of 18ct yellow gold with the light scratching.

Movement:
The movement is the Cartier calibre 690 which is a Quartz movement. It has recently has a new battery fitted and is keeping accurate time. The service history is unknown.
