This is a rare and beautiful example of the Santos Galbee Millennium 2319, with the reference W20041C4. It is from the late 90s / early 00s, being unisex size at 29mm x 29mm. It wears larger than these strict dimensions as it has a lug-to-lug measurement of 41mm. It has a two tone Stainless and 18k gold case. The case is Stainless Steel, whilst the bezel and bracelet screws are lovely 18k gold accents.

The dial has a guilloche texture and a silver sunburst finish. It has applied three-dimensional gold tone Roman numerals and date window at 3 O’clock.

The hands are of the Sword style and have a beautiful gold tone mirror polished finish. The classic notched crown sits on the side, with the facetted sapphire inset within the face of the crown. The mix of brushed and polished finishes on the case defines the standout design, drawing the eye to different aspects. The rear of the case back is signed: Cartier, Water Resistant, Automatic 2319, with the serial number 7548XXXX.

 

The watch comes on its original Cartier Stainless Steel and 18ct gold screw bracelet. It has an 18mm lug width. It is signed Cartier, with the Cartier logo on the clasp. The bracelet will fit up to a 7.25” wrist diameter. It is in good condition. It has the code C0736651. It has a good, brushed finish.

 

The movement inside is a Cartier 120. It is an ETA 2000 base calibre. It is an automatic movement, with a jewel count of 20. It has Incabloc shock protection, a sweep second hand, hacking seconds and a quickset date feature. It has a hi-beat frequency of 28,800 BPH. It is a finely decorated movement with Cartier signing on the rotor. The movement has been recently serviced. It is keeping time to within -2 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 275 and a beat error of 0.1 m/s.

Dial:

The dial is a light silver base tone with a Guilloche texture and sunburst finish. The Roman numerals are three-dimensional applied in a gold tone. They have a polished finish and are beautifully designed.

The minute track around the exterior of the dial has dash markers, with large Arabic markers for the 5 second graduations. It has thick Tritium lume plots to 12, 6 and 9 which balances neatly with the date window at 3 O’clock.

The dial is signed Cartier below 12 O’clock, with Automatic above 6 O’clock. The foot of the dial is signed T Swiss T.

 

Hands:

The hands are original and of sword style and are in very good condition. They have a gold tone mirror polished finish which shines in the light. They have Tritium lume in-fill to the centre which is a lovely cream tone.

 

Glass:

The crystal is the original Sapphire crystal. It is in very good condition with no noticeable marks.

 

Crown:

The crown is the original Cartier crown. It winds and sets as it should and is in excellent condition. It has the cut Sapphire set in the end. The Sapphire has some marks to its facetted finishes visible only under loupe inspection.

 

Bezel:

The bezel is 18k yellow gold and is in good original condition. It has some light surface scratching as expected with age. The screw heads are in good condition with mirror polished finish.

 

Case:

The case is made of Stainless Steel and measures 29mm wide x 29mm long, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 41mm. It is in good condition, having been lightly re-finished. It maintains a slight dint to the left-hand side of the case. Overall, in its in good condition

 

Caseback:

The caseback is formed of Stainless Steel and has a brushed finish. There are some light scratches. The finish has been gently re-brushed.

It is signed: Cartier, Water Resistant, Automatic 2319, with the serial number 7548XXXX.

 

Strap:

The watch comes on its original Cartier Stainless Steel and 18ct gold screw bracelet. It has an 18mm lug width. It is signed Cartier, Swiss Made, Stainless Steel. It is also signed CCDD. The bracelet will fit up to a 7.25” wrist diameter. It is in good condition having been lightly refinished to remove scratching. There are still some noticeable scratches, particularly to the upper section.
