This is a beautiful example of an early 2000s Cartier Santos Galbee Millennium dial 2319. It is known as the reference W20041C4. It has the compact unisex 29mm case which has the two-tone finish with 18ct gold bezel and screws to the stainless-steel base. It has a stunning guilloche textured dial with the silver sunburst finish. It has applied three-dimensional gold tone Roman numerals with the date window set a 3 O’clock. Outside it has the minute/second markers with Tritium luminous plots at 6, 9 and 12. The hands are of the Sword style in a gold tone with the mirror polished finish. The central second has the arrow pointer with all the hands having luminous infill. The classic notched crown sits on the side, with the facetted sapphire inset within the face of the crown. The case back has the Cartier signing with reference and clear serial number. The movement is an automatic Cartier calibre 120 which has been recently serviced and is keeping accurate time. The bracelet will fit up to a 7.75” wrist circumference.

The dial is the standout aspect of the reference and is known as the ‘Millennium’ dial. It has a mesmerising guilloche textured finish which radiates with the silver tone sunburst finish. Combined with the applied gold roman numeral hour markers, it makes for luxurious time telling. It has the minute/second dashes around the exterior with arabic printing for the 5 second graduations. The date window is set at 3 O’clock and is balanced with luminous plots at 6, 9 and 12, another quirk of this reference. The Cartier signing is below 12, with automatic signing above 6 and ‘L Swiss L’ to the base of the dial.

The hands are of luminous Sword style with the original luminous set into the hands. They are a gold tone with the mirror polished finish. The central second hand is of arrow form with the luminous tip.

The case measures a compact unisex sizing of 29mm x 29mm without crown. The Santos Galbee case is very clever as despite its seemingly smaller case width, the crown guard and crown add presence. The lug-to-lug length is also 41.25mm which further adds to the presence when combined with the bracelet. The bracelet is all part of the design which makes the Santos Galbee so iconic, elevating the watch above timekeeping, into the realms of jewellery.

The bezel is 18ct yellow gold and has the polished finish. It is set with the classic polished steel screws. It holds the sapphire crystal which protects the dial and provides clarity to the dial with its flush finish.

The steel head has the brushed finish to the top with the polished bevel to the edge. The sides of the case continue the brushed finish, with the crown guard set to the right. Between is the notched crown with the facetted sapphire inset. From the side profile it is visible that the whole watch has a subtle downward curvature which allows it to flow into the bracelet.

The bracelet has the brushed steel links, with the 18ct yellow gold screws to either side. It flows into the hidden double fold over clasp, creating a seamless design on the wrist. It will fit up to a 7.75” wrist circumference. The clasp is signed to the inside with the Cartier signing.

The rear of the case has the polished finish, with the case back having the brushed finish. The signing is clearly defined with the ‘Cartier’ signing and model information. The serial number is also clearly defined. The rear is held in place with 8 screws.

Inside is the Cartier calibre 120 which is an ETA 2000-1 base calibre. It is an automatic movement, which is also hand windable. It has a jewel count of 20 and operates at a hi-beat frequency of 28,800 BPH. It has been recently serviced and has a daily variation of 5 seconds.

The watch comes with a more recent Cartier box and no paperwork.

The watch is modelled on a 7” wrist circumference.
