A very interesting Dunhill model, the Centenary Hunter Chronograph. This is a Stainless-Steel cushion shaped case chronograph watch, measuring 32.25mm x 32.25mm with a lug-to-lug measurement of 38mm. The model represents a modern take on a 1930s/40s chronograph watch. The dial is a bright white base tone which is very well crafted. The sub-dials are inset to the dial with a silver chapter ring, whilst the finish is grained. The Skeletonized hands are a quality touch which looks great. There is a Sapphire crystal glass which fits flat to the case. The movement is an ETA calibre 251.471. Despite being quartz, it has a 23-jewel movement and is a high-grade quartz calibre.  The movement is in good condition both cosmetically and in terms of function. Service history is unknown, but the time keeping is very good as expected.

The watch is on its original Dunhill strap with Dunhill buckle, with Dunhill box.

The watch was introduced at SIHH in 1998 and was produced until 2001. It was created to honour the 100 years of existence of the Dunhill brand. A couple of different 1930s inspired models were created for this, but the Centenary Chronograph was the most expensive (£1000 new) and most desierable.

The case is made of two parts, with the case back screwing into a single piece front of the case. The case is cushion shaped and has a polished finish. The bezel is cushion shaped, with flat case sides. The lugs are short and angled in, following the cushion shape of the case. The pushers are original, with one having some dings to it.

The case back is stainless steel. It is in average condition, with surface scratching around the screws. It has a polished finish. It is held in place with four screws. It is signed Water resistant 30m, Steel, Swiss Made Quartz, Dunhill, A/D, 142 11894 PX0H.

The dial has a white matte base tone which is bright and clean. It is a well-made dial with a lot of quality design aspects.

The sub dials are inset into the dial and have a silver chapter ring surrounding them which shines in the light. They have a classic circular radiating grained finish. The top left counter is for the chronograph minutes, whilst the top right is for 1/10s of a second. The lower sub-dial is for the constant seconds. The date function is offset at 4 O’clock and neatly positioned. The hour markers add nice balance to the dial, with Arabic 9,12,3,6 with thin baton markers in-between. These are painted or printed, with a black outer line, allowing the silver tone to reflect the light and appear three dimensional. The minute and second markers appear as dashes around the edge of the dial. The dial is signed Dunhill below 12 O’clock and Swiss, below 6 O’clock.

The hands are original. They are a silver polished finish. They are skeletonised which is a neat and modern touch.

The sapphire crystal is original and is in perfect condition. The crown is original and has a neat coin edge finish.

The strap is the original Dunhill strap, which is leather. It has a crocodile effect finish. It also has its original Dunhill clasp.

The movement is an ETA calibre 251.471. Despite being quartz, it has a 23-jewel movement and is a high-grade quartz calibre.  The movement is in good condition both cosmetically and in terms of function. Service history is unknown, but the time keeping is very good as expected.
