For sale we have an interesting neo-vintage, April 1996 Seiko Quartz Chronograph with alarm. This is a function packed watch, with a charming mix of neat design touches and vintage inspired design. It is a clean watch, with versatility, being equally suited to wear as a sports watch or a dress piece.
 
It has a light silver dial with a subtle satin shine. Around the outside of the dial is the white Tachymetre insert. The dial has simple three-dimensional applied silver baton markers, with lume blocks to the base. It has inset sub-dials for the 30-minute counter, constant second and alarm. These have a sunburst finish which catches the light nicely. The date window is offset at 3 O’clock with date window. This dial design is reminiscent of the 1970s chronographs from Seiko and Citizen. The hands also have a vintage feel being black painted.
The Stainless case measures 39mm which gives it a good wrist presence, whilst the depth is under 10mm, making this a neat wear on the wrist. This is what gives it the neo-vintage feel, as well as its styling. It has brushed finishing to the top, with a polished notched bezel framing the dial. To the left is the chronograph pusher, hour and minutes crown at 3 and the alarm crown at 4 O’clock. It has a signed snap on case back with brushed finish. The watch comes on its original Stainless-Steel bracelet, with signed clasp. It will fit any wrist size, with spare links.
Inside is the workhorse cal 7T32, which is an excellently engineered quartz movement. It was considered a ‘throw away when not working’ movement, being made of 90% plastic. However, it is fully serviceable and is a very reliable timekeeper and boasts a host of functions for this price point.

Dial: 
The dial is original and is in very good condition with no signs of ageing or marks.
 
Hands: 
The hands are original with lume-fill, black painted, and are in very good condition.
 
Glass: 
The acrylic crystal is original and has some light scratches, but these are only noticeable in certain lights and don’t obscure the dial.
 
Crown: 
The Stainless crown is original and is in good condition, as are the pushers and alarm crown. They have light surface scratching.
 
Case:
The case is Stainless Steel and is in decent overall condition. It has light surface scratching associated with ageing. It has a brushed finish to the top, with polished sides. 
 
Caseback:
The snap on back is Stainless Steel and is in good condition for the age. It has light surface scratching, with a brushed finish. The signing is clear. 
 
Strap: 
The watch comes on its original Stainless-Steel bracelet. It has light surface scratching associated with age. It has spare links and will fit and wrist size. 
 
Movement: 
The movement is a Seiko 7T32 Quartz movement. It is a chronograph with alarm and date function. It displays the constant seconds, 60 second chrono hand and a 30-minute counter. All functions work as they should, including the alarm.
 
It is working to within factory specification of +/- 15 seconds a month. It has had a new battery fitted.
