Here we have a 1991 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref 69240, which comes with a Rolex box and its signed paperwork. It has a 26mm Stainless Steel Oyster case, with the screwdown crown and caseback, which is a ladies size. It has the lightly aged Champagne dial with the sunburst finish. It has the date window at 3 O’clock, with the glass having the date magnifier.

It is presented on its original Steel Jubilee bracelet, reference 62510D, with 568 endlinks, which is full length. Inside is the Chronometer grade Rolex calibre 2135, which is automatic with the quickset date, which is in good condition, keeping accurate time.

It comes in a Rolex inner and outer box, hangtag, service receipts and original signed paperwork dating to 1994. It was purchased from Peers the Jewellers in Blackpool.

 

It has the champagne sunburst dial which is original and has aged to a darker tone in areas. The applied cylindrical baton hour markers have a frosted finish, with the Cornet at 12 O’clock. Below 12 o’clock the dial is signed with “Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, Date”. Above 6 o’clock it has the “Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified” text. Below 6, it has the “T Swiss T” marking. The date window has the bevelled edge which falls to meet the date wheel. The wheel has the white tone with the black Arabic numerals.

The hour and minute hands are of stick style with the bevel to the centre. This, along with the polished finish makes the hands interact with the light. They have the luminous in-fill to the centre. The central second hand has the polished finish and the tapered design. The original acrylic crystal sits over the dial and has the Cyclops date magnifier.

 

The case is a ladies size, measuring 26mm in diameter with the 32.5mm lug to lug length and 13mm lug width. It is a Stainless-Steel oyster case with the brushed finish to the top of the case and the polished sides. It has an engine turned bezel which is formed Steel. The crown is the Oyster crown which screws down and is marked with the Rolex Cornet. In-between the lugs it is signed with the serial and reference number 69240. The Oyster screw down case back has the coin edge, with the circular brushed finish to the face and polished surround. Inside it is signed with the reference 69000A, with the Rolex signing. It has multiple service etchings to the inside of the case.

 

The watch comes on the original 1994 Jubilee bracelet Reference 62510D. It has 568 end links with 21 links in total meaning it will fit up to a 8.5” wrist circumference. It has light surface scratching associated with age and wear. It has sag also associated with age. The clasp has the brushed finish and clear Cornet with light scratching.

 

The movement is a Rolex calibre 2135. It is an automatic movement with a jewel count of 29. It has a quickset date function. It has a hi-beat frequency of 28,800 BPH and a 42-hour power reserve. The movement was last serviced four years ago. It is keeping time to +3 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 300 degrees and a beat error of 0.0m/s.

 

It comes in a 16220 Rolex Oyster outer box and a 11.00.71 inner box. It has service receipts from 2004 and 2021, with other repair receipts from 2013 and 2015.

Dial:

The light champagne sunburst dial is original with a darker patination in areas. The applied hour markers and cornet are good, without wear or corrosion. The signing is good and clear with no wear. The lume plots are good and clean.

 

Hands:

The hands are original of baton design in a silver tone. They are in good condition with little signs of ageing. The luminous in-fill is good and original. The central second hand is original and good.

 

Glass:

The acrylic crystal is original with some surface scratches.

 

Crown:

The Steel Rolex crown is original and in good condition, functioning as it should, screwing down well. The thread is good.

 

Case:

The case is formed of Stainless Steel and is in decent condition with light surface scratching. There is noticeable marking from a scuff to the top right lug. The brushed finish on the top is good, with polished finish to the sides. The lugs are well shaped with little signs of wear to the drilled lugs. The polished sides of the lugs have light scratching. The bezel has some light marks.

 

Caseback:

The case back is stainless steel and is in good condition with the circular brushed finish to the face and polished surround. It has been refinished in the past and has some light marks and nicks. The coin edge is very good and sharp with no signs of poor opening attempts. The signing is good and clear.

 

Bracelet:
