A Grey dial Tag Heuer Professional 2000 series chronograph with a “Super Quartz” quartz and mechanical movement.

This model was one of the last produced, bridging the model gap between the Heuer and Tag Heuer era. Some of this reference are signed Heuer and some Tag Heuer. These models appear much more like a tool watch than a diver with a utilitarian approach to dial design. This is a watch that looks great in photographs and on the wrist.

The case is factory blasted giving it a unique finish not commonly found during this era. It is well proportioned measuring 40mm wide without crown x 37mm in length with a lug-to-lug measurement of 45mm. The case has the unique notched shape on the sides which is associated with the Tag Heuers of this era. The notched pushers are also sand blasted and are a lovely part of the design. The crown is signed with the Tag Heuer logo.

The bezel has a polished outer finish, whilst the insert is a bright silver tone with charcoal tone signing for the diver countdown.

The dial is excellently designed. The silver sub dials have concentric grooved circles which contrast against the finish of the plain grey dial base tone. The triangular markers are well proportioned, providing good size and balance to the dial. The date window is sunk beneath an internal magnifier which is an interesting piece of design.

The case back is Stainless Steel and it’s in good condition with only light surface scratches. It has a polished finish. It is signed with the reference 272.006/1. The inside of the case back is signed: Brevet 503305 M.R.P SA Switzerland Tag-Heuer SA.

The bracelet is original to the watch and is signed with the reference 325/3.

The clasp is signed Tag Heuer. It has a brushed finish. The bracelet will fit an 8” wrist diameter, whilst it also has diver extension.

The movement is a Tag Heuer calibre 185.30. It is hybrid movement, with the quartz movement powering a mechanical module. It jumps half a second on the chronograph second hand which is quite an unusual novelty. It has a monthly gain of +3 seconds.

The watch is accompanied by its Tag Heuer box. Overall, this is a good example, in good condition.
