For sale we have a good example of a pre-owned 1990s Cartier Vermeil Reference 1861. It has the desirable and attractive tri-colour trinity dial. It has a good quality Cartier calibre 690 quartz movement inside. The case is gold plated over 925 silver (Argent). It is on a Cartier strap for the Vermeil, but the buckle is non-original by Hirsch. It has no box or original paperwork, but it does have Cartier service invoice and information.
The dial is exceptional and eye-catching. The Trinity dial shines in the light and has a mirror finish which means the dial can appear very dark or light dependent on the lighting. The hands are of sword style and are a deep thermally blued tone.
The Vermeil case is of classic design with the T bar lug design. It is a silver base with gold plating. It has no wear to the gold plating but has some oxidisation to the case back, with it appearing darker around the edges. The bars that hold the cut-out strap in place screw in. The thread and slot on the screw are in good condition. The case back is signed Vermeil 1861, Argent Plaque or G 20m. The sapphire cabochon crown is original and is of classic design for Cartier.
Inside, the Cartier 690 movement is in very good condition. It is a thin movement with 8 jewels. The movement was sent off to Cartier for servicing by the previous owner. The movement is very clean. It is keeping time very, as expected with a high-grade quartz movement. It has been well kept by the previous owner with Cartier servicing.
