1989 Tag Heuer Professional 3000 watch, Ref 932.213, 36mm, Quartz ETA 955.412
 
This is a good example of a Tag Heuer Professional 3000 from 1989. The dial is particularly appealing with the grey matte base and orange hour markers.
 
It works perfectly, having had a battery change and a new O-ring before sealing. It comes with its original guarantee papers from 1989. This is a funky and fun sports watch from the 1980s.
 
The watch wears well but appears quite small for its measurements with a dial that measures 22mm across.
 
The 3000 was only on sale for just over 5 years and underwent only minor changes throughout its life. The 3000 represents an interesting chapter in TAG Heuer’s struggle out of the 1980s. The 3000 squared those curves away to create a more technical looking watch.
Complementing the angular case is a huge 12-sided bezel that sits inside the width of the watch. While not as wide as the case itself, the bezel is very thick. The Bezel also features small ball-shaped grips at each corner to make it easier to turn.
 
The 3000 resorted to small design tricks to give a feeling of “premium-ness” over the other dive watches in the Heuer range. This included having metal borders were used on each of the hour-markers.
 
 The 3000 used the same family of movements as the 2000 Series, with the majority of the watch range using the relatively common ETA 955.112 quartz movement.
 
These watches are absolute bargains second-hand, with very good examples selling for only several hundred pounds.

Dial:
The dial is in excellent original condition.
 
Hands:
The hands are original and the lume is in good condition. Some light tarnishing.
 
Glass:
The crystal is in perfect condition with no scratches.
 
Crown:
The crown is orignal and is in excellent condition, screwing down as it should for water resistance.
 
Case:
The case is Stainless Steel and in good condition with no harsh dents or deep scratching. There are some light nips visible in certain lights on the bevelled edges on the crown side. There are some deeper than surface scratches on the upper side of the non crown side of watch. None of these are severe.
 
Caseback:
The Stainless Steel case back is in very good condition. It has a couple of very light surface scratches. Inside it is signed Brevet 503 305. Tag-Heuer S.A. 1101078 W 20.
 
Strap:
The correct original bracelet in excellent condition. The bracelet is signed 345/31. Movement: An ETA 955.412 Quartz movement with 7 jewels. Date changes as it should. New battery fitted. Working perfectly.
