For sale we have an unusual model of Omega, not commonly seen. This was purchased by its original owner in the Australian market. It is a 1982 Omega Seamaster Quartz, reference 196.0296. It comes on its original Omega Steel bracelet, reference 1416/784. The case is neat, measuring 33mm x 32mm, with a slim depth of 5.5mm. This makes the watch an easy wear, with it being very neat on the wrist.
This model has a neat coin edge bezel which frames the dial. The dial is a silver tone with a linear brushed finish. The minute/second markers are neatly balanced around the dial, with applied baton hour markers in between. The date window is small with clean Omega Seamaster Quartz signing.
The crown is to the left-hand side and is small, in proportion with other aspects such as the date window. The sides of the case have a brushed finish. To the rear is the snap on case back with linear brushed finish and Seamaster medallion to the centre and 1432 signing. The inside is signed with Omega signing and the reference 196.0296.
The movement is a calibre 1432 which is an ETA base movement. It has had a new battery fitted and is working well, keeping accurate time.
This is a neat and stylish 1980s Omega, with the dependability of a Quartz movement. On its original bracelet, this is a classic watch suitable for every day wear.

Dial:
The dial is original and is in average condition, having been in a hot and humid climate for most of the watches life. It has a relatively even speckled patina. The signing is good and clear and the applied hour markers are good with little corrosion. It has the original aged lume plots.
Hands:
The hands are original, with original lume in-fill. The lume has aged and they have some corrosion to the finish.
Glass:
The sapphire crystal is original and has some light nicks to the edge but is in clear condition.
Crown:
The small Stainless crown is original with Omega logo and is in good condition.
Case:
The case is Stainless Steel and is in average overall condition. It has light surface scratching associated with ageing. It has a brushed finish to the top and sides. Luckily this is hidden by the bracelet end links.
Caseback:
The snap on back is Stainless Steel and is in average condition for the age. It has light surface scratching, with a brushed surface to the centre. The Seamaster engraving to the centre is clear, as is the number 1432. There is a notch to the back where it is opened.
Strap:
The watch comes on its original Stainless Steel bracelet reference 1416/784. The bracelet has light surface scratching and there is some space between the links due to age and wear. It will fit any wrist size and has spare links.
