Here we have a classic circa 1980s Cartier Santos Carree ref 2961 with the white dial and black roman numerals and signing. It has the clean and classic 29mm case proportion with the stainless steel and 18ct gold, two-tone design. The dial is clean and simple with the black ‘Cartier’ text and black framing to the date window. It has the ‘Swiss’ signing to the base. The white lacquered finish has developed spider crazing with age, visible in certain lights. The thermally blued hands are of sword style with the tapered central second design. They shine brightly in the light. The classic angular design of crown sits between the crown guard with the facetted sapphire set to the tip. The case is in good condition with minimal marking and the mix of brushed and polished finishes.
The rear of the case is signed with the Cartier name, with the ‘AC 23.80 gr OR 0.750 4.05gr’ and ‘Automatique’ signing. Inside is the original ETA calibre 2671 automatic movement, with the Cartier signed rotor. It has been recently serviced by our watchmaker and has a daily variation within 5 seconds a day.
The watch comes on its original Cartier Stainless Steel and 18ct gold screw bracelet. It has the 18mm lug width. It is signed Cartier, with the Cartier logo on the clasp. The bracelet will fit up to a 7.5” wrist diameter.
The case is the classic unisex size at 29mm x 29mm. It wears larger than these strict dimensions as it has a lug-to-lug measurement of 41mm.
It is watch only, with no box or paperwork.
The watch is modelled on a 7” wrist circumference.

Dial:
The dial is original and has an even white tone. There is crazing within the lacquered finish. It is visible only in certain lights. The signing is good and clear. It has a slight chip below the Cartier signing.
Hands:
The hands are original and of sword style. They are a bright thermally blued tone.
Glass:
The Sapphire crystal is original and is in good condition.
Crown:
The crown is original. It has light marking associated with age. The facetted sapphire is good, without any chips or damage.
Bezel:
The bezel is in good condition with the polished finish. It has some light marking. The screws are good with polished heads.
Case:
The case is in good condition with light marking. It has one mark, either side towards the top where the bezel meets the case.
Caseback:
The case back is formed of Stainless Steel and has a brushed finish. There are some light scratches. The finish has been re-brushed in the past. The serial number is obscured due to years of polishing.
Bracelet:
The watch comes on its original bracelet. It is in strong condition with good brushing on the stainless and polished screw heads. It has some nicks to the corners associated with age and wear. The clasp is good with well-defined Cartier logo. There is only light scratching. It will fit up to a 7.5” wrist circumference.
Movement:
The movement is an ETA calibre 2671 which is a small automatic movement with a hi-beat rate. It has been recently serviced by our watchmaker and has a daily variation of 5 seconds.
