Here we have an uncommon 1976 Rolex Precision reference 2611 which has the textured steel case with the integrated Herringbone mesh bracelet. The dial is the silver sunburst finish with the applied baton hour markers. There are the black strips to the markers at 3, 6 and 9 which tie in with the finish to the hands. At 12 o’clock is the applied Rolex logo with the Rolex name below. To the right-hand side is the neat crown with the sapphire cabochon. The bracelet is integrated within the case and has the herringbone mesh finish. It is well sized, fitting up to a 17.78mm wrist diameter. The case back has the engraved Rolex cornet logo with the serial number and inside it is signed with the reference 2611. The movement is the Rolex calibre 1400 which is a reliable manual wind calibre with shockproofing. It is in good condition and is keeping accurate time.The 2611 is an unusual reference. It is designed much like precious metal models from the period but has a sturdy stainless-steel construction. The model seems to have been produced for the US market and made use of US based bracelet makers such as JB Champion.The plus side of this construction is that as precious metal Rolex watches climb ever higher in price due to the sheer gold scrap weight, this is a model that looks the same. But with a sturdier construction and at a lower price point.The dial has the silver satin sunburst finish. The hour markers are applied batons with the mix of polished and frosted finishes. The markers at 3, 6 and 9 have the black stripe to the centre to differentiate them, with the applied Rolex cornet logo sitting at 12 o’clock. The Rolex name proudly sits below with the ‘Precision’ model name above 6 o’clock. To the base of the dial is the Swiss text. Being a cocktail watch it is a two hander with the hour and minute hand having the black painted finish, with the silver centre. This helps contrast the hands against the dial and ties in with the quarter markers.The case is neatly proportioned, measuring 21mm square. It has the Herringbone or woven finish to the bezel which matches the design of the integrated bracelet. To the right-hand side is the neat coin edge crown with the sapphire cabochon set to the tip. The sides and ends of the case have the satin textured finish, with a more muted approach. As mentioned, the bracelet Herringbone/woven styling follows that of the bezel design. It has the fold over clasp with the matching textured finish, which has two settings for the sizing. It is a well sized bracelet which will fit up to a 17.78cm wrist diameter. It will wear loose on most ladies wrists, but the head stays on top and doesn’t slip onto the side of the wrist.The case back has the bevelled edges with the lightly brushed finish to the face. It is etched with the Rolex cornet logo to the top, with the serial number clearly defined below. Inside it has the ‘Montres Rolex SA’ signing with the Acier Inoxydable (Stainless Steel) construction noted. It is also signed with the model reference 2611.Inside is the petite Rolex calibre 1400. It is a quality manual wind movement which has a jewel count of 18 and a frequency of 21,600 BPH. It was designed to fit within elegant cocktail watches and is durable due to being shock protected. It has signs of historic scratching and polishing.Crown:The crown appears original and is in good condition, functioning well. It has light scratching and the cabochon to the end is free of chips.Case:The case is formed of stainless steel and is in good condition with only light marking.Caseback:The case back is in good condition for the age with some light scratching associated with poor opening. The Rolex cornet and serial number are clear.Bracelet:The watch comes on the integrated bracelet, which is formed of steel and is in good overall condition for the age.
