The Tissot Seastar is a long-lasting model, and it’s easy to see why. It began in the 1960s and is a model still produced to this day. There was a wide variety of models with many interesting variations, making it a very fun watch to collect. It represents great value for money in today’s vintage market. The watch is extremely well manufactured with a reliable and sturdy movement.
The serial number dates the watch to 1972 and the early 70s style is clearly visible in the large, oval, helmet shaped case. This version lacks a date function, which many of the late 70s models had.
The dial has a silver satin finish and is in good condition. The dial is minimalistic and clean. It has raised baton hour markers in a silver tone. There is no discolouration to the dial and it remains true to its original silver finish. The T logo for Tissot is applied Stainless. The original Tritium lume dots sit on the end of the hour markers.
The hands are original in a silver tone. They are in very good condition with no signs of bending or scratching. The hour and minute hands are in-filled with Tritium lume which is original and in good condition.
The crystal is the original and is acrylic lens. It is in good condition with only light surface scratching, which is not very noticeable. The crown is the original Tissot crown and is made of Stainless Steel. It functions as it should.
The case is imposing at 36.5mm, with its oval shape and lug to lug width of 40.5mm, making this a very wearable vintage watch. It is made from Stainless Steel and is in good condition with light surface scratching which fits with the age.
The case back is Stainless Steel and is in good condition with only surface scratching. Inside, it is signed: Ch Tissot & Fils, Acier Inoxydable

The strap is a brand-new black NATO style strap. It will fit any wrist size.
The movement is original and is a Tissot calibre 2451 which dates to 1972, the first year of its production. The watch has a daily gain of +40 seconds, with an amplitude of 260 and a beat error of 0.8m/s.
