1970s 18ct Baume & Mercier Baumatic dress watch, Datejust style, BM 13210 Buren.
This is a beautiful Baumatic, which was imported into the UK via Birmingham Assay office in 1974. It is very well proportioned at 34mm x 34mm with a lug to lug measurement of 40.5mm.
The case is solid 18ct gold and has a fantastic coin edge bezel, and coin edge case back. This, combined with the simplistic Champagne dial and gold hour markers and hands, make this watch an incredibly attractive dress watch.
Much like the Rolex Datejust in it's design, with Baume & Merciers own touches, such as the micro-rotor, to create a very thin case, which sits very elegantly on the wrist.
This is a very crisp example, with no real signs of ageing. It has a personal engraving on the back which is a shame, but this is nicely done and shows it's history.
Inside there is a recently serviced, beautiful BM 13210, which is based on a Buren 1321 movement. It is a lovely movement with 30 jewels and a power reserve of 54 hours. The elegance of the microrotor movement lies in it's finishing, complication and low depth.
It is currently keeping time to +30 seconds a day with an amplitude of 280 and a beat error of 1.2 m/s.

An incredibly well preserved dial with no obvious signs of wear, discolouration, or ageing.
The hands are original and have no signs of wear or corrosion. Excellent condition.
The crystal is original and is in good condition, with only minor surface scratches and a couple of light nicks.
The crown is original, 18ct gold and in excellent condition with the Baume and Mercier logo.
The case is 18ct gold and is in excellent condition with no dents or deep scratching, only light surface scratches.
A beautiful 18ct case back with coin edge. It has a personal engraving from the past, but this is nicely done. The original circular graining still remains.
A new 20mm genuine leather strap.
