For sale we have a charming 1968 Zenith dress watch. It has a 34mm 9ct gold case, which is of neat and slim proportions. It has an uncommon large Roman numeral dial with a gloss finish. Inside it has a manual wind Zenith calibre 2310 movement, which has been recently serviced.

The case is hallmarked for 9ct gold with Swiss hallmarking, alongside British import marks from Glasgow assay office. It is also clearly signed with Zenith marking to the inside. It measures 34mm across, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 38.5mm. It has a slim design, with a depth of 7.5mm which makes it a neat fit to the wrist. The short and thin lugs, with the thin bezel further add to the neat design of the case.

The case marking includes the Poincon De Maitre hammer 143 of Pierre-A Nardin & Cie, from Zeniths hometown of Le Locle. Nardin are acknowledged as one of the finest case makers of the mid-century, creating some of Zeniths best known precious metal designs in this period.

This dial takes centre stage, with its large Roman numeral hour markers. A classic dress watch, with no seconds markers and only an hour and minute hand. The Zenith signing with star logo is clear and neatly proportioned. To the base the dial is signed Swiss made. The hour and minute hand are black painted to match the hour markers. To the right is the neat crown with coin edge finish.

Inside the calibre 2310 manual wind movement is in good health, having been recently serviced. It is a small and thin calibre, allowing the watch to maintain its slim profile. It is keeping time to within +20 seconds a day.
