The Omega Seamaster CK 14774 was released in 1960. It has a 34mm Stainless Steel case and is a very clean and functional design. This particular example is from 1962.

 

The dial has a silver satin finish and is in average/good original condition. The signing on the dial very clear and without wear. The original lume pips remain above the baton hour markers. The dial maintains an even tone without significant ageing. There are some bigger scratches on the dial located between 11 and 12, 4 and 5, and 6 and 7.  

 

The hands are original. They are of Luminous Facetted Dauphine style. The acrylic crystal is the original acrylic lens. It has the Omega monogram over the centre of the hands. The crown is the original Omega crown and is made of Stainless Steel. It is large and has nobbled edge. It is a very nicely sized functional crown.

 

The case is made from Stainless Steel and is in good condition with light surface scratching. It appears to have been lightly polished some time ago. The case was made by SGR, which stands for Graber S.A. who were a case subcontractor.

 

The case back is Stainless Steel and is in good condition. The Seamaster medallion is clear and hasn’t suffered severe polishing from the wrist like many.

 

Inside, it is signed: Acier Inoxvdable, Omega Watch Co. Fab. Suisse, Swiss made.

The reference is: 14774 SC-62.

 

It is a new genuine leather Suede finish strap, hand made in Italy. It has a plain Stainless-Steel buckle. It will fit up to a 8” wrist. It is made by Geckota.

 

The movement is an Omega calibre 552 with the serial number 19,358,763, which dates the watch to 1962. It has 24 jewels and has Incabloc shock protection. The movement has a frequency of 19,800 BPH and a power reserve of 50 hours.

 

The service history is unknown, and the watch has not been serviced by ourselves. Therefore, a service would be recommended despite decent time keeping, due to low amplitude.

 

The watch has a daily gain of -40 seconds, with an amplitude of 185 and a beat error of 1.2m/s.

 They are in good condition with no signs of bending but some surface scratching, mainly on the hour hand near the centre wheel. The lume infill is original and has a vintage tone to it, which matches the hour marker dots.

 

Glass:

The acrylic crystal is the original acrylic lens. It has the Omega monogram over the centre of the hands. It is in strong condition for it’s age. It has a couple of slight marks on it, but no deep scratches.

 

Crown:

The crown is the original Omega crown and is made of Stainless Steel. It is large and has nobbled edge. It is a very nicely sized functional crown.

 

Case:

The case is made from Stainless Steel and is in good condition with light surface scratching. It appears to have been lightly polished some time ago. The case is clean with only light surface scratching.

 

The case was made by SGR, which stands for Graber S.A. who were a case subcontractor.

 

Caseback:

The case back is Stainless Steel and is in good condition. The Seamaster medallion is clear and hasn’t suffered severe polishing from the wrist like many. The caseback appears unpolished, apart from natural wear against the wrist. There are only light surface scratches with no deep nicks or marks.
