This is a well-designed and pretty little ladies wristwatch from the mid 1960s. It has a neat 9ct gold case which measures 21mm x 21mm with a lug-to-lug measurement of 27.25mm.
The front of the case is 9ct gold and is in good condition, with the case back being one solid piece. The inside of the case back has peerlage finishing and is signed “SD”, the makers mark for Dreyfuss & Co, owners of Rotary. It has English hallmarking for 9ct gold from London assay office, with the date letter “k”. This puts the watches production at 1965.
The dial has a silver base tone with a satin sunburst finish, whilst the hour markers are clean gold tone batons, with double batons for 12, 3, 6 and 9. The dial is signed Rotary with the winged wheel to 12 o’clock, whilst it is signed “21 jewels” above 6 o’clock and “Swiss made” below.
The hands are original. They are in good condition with no bending and minimal corrosion. They are gold in tone and of stick style.
The crystal is original and is in good condition, with a couple of light surface scratches.
The crown appears to be original and is in good condition with only light surface scratches.
The watch is on a new old stock genuine leather strap for fixed lugs, non-Rotary.
The movement is an FHF calibre with 21 jewels. The service history is unknown, but the movement is in good condition cosmetically and is keeping acceptable time.
