For sale we have an exceptional single ownership example of a 1956 Omega 35mm Stainless Steel cased watch, reference 2800-1P. It is in excellent overall condition with no signs of ageing to the dial. The dial has a bright silver satin tone with mirror polished facetted hour markers, having the original pumpkin tone lume plots to the base. It has simple Omega signing and sub-second register, creating a beautifully balanced dial. The luminous dauphine hands are exceptional with the aged pumpkin tone luminous. The large Stainless case measures 35mm, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 44.25mm, meaning the watch is a significant presence on the wrist. To the right is the original Omega crown. The case back is great with brushed finish to the centre. Inside it has all the relevant signing. The Omega cal 266 movement is inside, keeping time to within +12 seconds a day. The movement is beautiful with its rose gold tone finish intact. Not a single blemish to the movement. It is proudly presented on its original 1950s Omega leather strap, with original Omega Stainless Steel buckle.

The watch comes with its original box, signed paperwork and purchase invoice.

The watch was purchase from Galli jewellers in Bellevue, Zurich, on the 18th of October 1956. It has the Galli box, with Omega Guarantee of origin from Galli, with the serial number signed. The invoice shows the watch was imported back into the UK through London airport.

This is one of the finest examples of this reference on the market. The condition communicates the beauty of the original design, with the lines, finishes and colours, without the effects of the passage of time.
