1950s Omega Seamaster dress watch, 2832-3SC , auto cal. 471, early Seamaster.

This is a very attractive, early Seamaster from 1956.

It is an ideal watch to acquire for a vintage collection, with all the elements needed to be a beautiful watch. The case is in very good condition with no wear to the gold plating, the dial is also excellent, as well as the case back and hands, all of which are original.

It is a project as; It is need of a service, It is keeping time to within +280 seconds a day. The crown is non-original and is not signed Omega.

Other than this it is a very lovely reference of early Omega, with a lot of aspects in better than average condition and original.

This particular case design is sought after due to the shape of the lugs.

Please see the images as these compliment and aid the description provided below.

A very well preserved dial with no obvious signs of wear, discolouration, or ageing.

The hands are original and have some signs of corrosion/oxidisation that is consistent with aging.

The crystal is in average condition, with multiple light surface scratches. Most will polish out from appearance.

The crown is non-original and is not signed Omega. It is gold plated and has lost some plating.

The case is gold plated and in good condition with no dents or deep scratching, only light surface scratches. There is no wear to the gold plating, even on the tips of the lugs.

The Stainless Steel case back is in good condition. It is marked "Waterproof" at the base. This has worn very slightly with wear. There are multiple light surface scratches, but no deep scratches or nicks.

An 18mm genuine leather strap which has an "Omega buckle", but this is not a genuine Omega buckle.

Realistically it is in need of a service, but it will be a reliable worker for some time if you decide not to. Beautiful Omega 471 movement, with a 20 jewels and a power reserve of 46 hours. Keeping time to -280 seconds a day with an amplitude of 220 and a beat error of 2.7 m/s.
