Here we have 1950s Jolus chronograph watch, which has the oversized 38mm case. It has an eyecatching Salmon tone dial with the beautiful, stylised gold foil hour markers, alternating with recessed gilt dots. The hands are of leaf style and are thermally blued, having developed a beautiful purple tone with age. The central second is neat with the tapered design. The running seconds are at 9 o’clock with the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. Both sub-dials are inset into the dial with the circular grained finish. Below 12 is the Jolus signing with the Antimagnetique signing above 6.

The crown is the rose gold tone, with the gold tone pushers to the right-hand side.

The case is oversized, measuring 38mm. It has the strong, straight lug design.

It has the snap-on stainless-steel back which has the clear signing with circular brushed finish.

The movement is a Landeron calibre 51, which is a manual wind chronograph movement. It has a jewel count of 17 and displays the hours, minutes, central 60 seconds, constant seconds and 30-minute counter. It is in good condition, keeping time to within +40 seconds a day. The chronograph functions well.

It comes on a new genuine leather racing style strap.

Please note it was originally a gold-plated case, which has had the plating removed.

The watch is modelled on a 7” wrist circumference.
