A pleasing 1950 example of a Tudor Oyster Shock Resisting, reference 7904. This particular watch has a dial with lovely natural patina, complimenting the original handset and arrow head hour markers. Inside is the manual wind calibre 1181 movement.

The dial has a simple minute track to the exterior, with arrowhead hour markers, arguably the most pleasing aspect of the dial. The clear and even arrow design provides beautiful symmetry to the dial with the absence of a date window. These also tie in the overall design nicely, matching with the gold tone of the hands. There is aged lume plots and infil to the markers. The dial is signed with the Tudor Small Rose logo below 12 O’clock, with the Tudor Oyster signing below. Above 6 O’clock the dial is signed shock-resisting, with Swiss made below.
The classic 1950s Oyster case, measuring 34mm x 34mm, with a lug-to-lug measurement og 40mm. The case is formed of Stainless Steel and is in good condition. The bezel is polished and has light surface scratches consistent with age. It is a classic Oyster case with a brushed finish on the lug, falling into a polished finish on the sides, with brushed underside of lugs. The lugs are drilled which makes spring bar removal very easy. The case has been refinished in the past.
The case back is Stainless Steel and is in average original condition. The coin edge finish has some wear. The flat surface of the rear has a polished finish. The model number is 7904, with the serial number clearly visible.
The inside of the case back is signed “Montres Tudor SA, Geneva Switzerland, Patented, Stainless Steel”.
The hour and minute hands are original, of Alpha style in gold tone. They have a lume filled centre which is in good patinated condition. The thermally blued central second is also original and is in good condition.
The crystal is original and has some fine and light scratches consistent with age.
The crown is original of classic Oyster style and is in good condition. It screws down and has a sharp coin edge. It is signed with the Rolex crown.
