The 34mm case wears well, with the width with crown of 37mm adding presence. It has a lug-to-lug width of 42mm, which also makes it wear larger than its strict 34mm width.

It is Stainless Steel, with the original Oyster patent screw down crown. It has a polished bevelled bezel, with a brushed finish to the top of the lugs. The sides are rather flat on this early reference, with the classic polished finish. To the rear, the underside of the lugs have the correct brushed finish. The screw back has a sharp coin edge finish, with a brushed outer section and polished face. The serial number is still visible. Inside, it is signed “Oyster Watch Co” with the reference 4463.

The Tudor calibre 59 SC has been recently serviced and is keeping time to within -10 seconds a day. It is manual wind, with sweep centre second and a jewel count of 17. It has a frequency of 18,000 BPH and a 40-hour power reserve. It also benefits from shock protection as proudly stated on the dial! It has the original movement spacer and case clamps holding it in place.

An early Tudor reference, it is a classic tool watch in its design with its clear hour markers, red central second hand and 1/5th second graduations to the outer track. It has an appealing Tudor Small Rose signing, with the beautiful 34mm Steel Oyster case. With its recently serviced movement, this is a reliable vintage watch with some beautiful design touches, for a fraction of a price of a Rolex from the same era.
