Here we have a 1942 Tissot Antimagnetique 31mm stainless steel cased watch. It has the tapered bevelled lugs with the notched bezel. It is a well made and pleasing case with the chunky original crown to the right. The dial is an uncommon Salmon & Champagne tone sector layout. It has the gold foil numerals and the Tissot long T logo below 12. The sub-second dial is inset with the engine turned finish. The hands are of leaf style in the gold tone with the neat original sub-second. The screwback is marked with the Tissot name, serial and features. The movement is a Tissot calibre 27-3 which is manual wind, with shock proofing. It has been recently serviced and is keeping accurate time.
The dial is a beautiful sector layout which is an uncommon Salmon & Champagne tone. The base of the dial is salmon with the satin finish. The Champagne sector features the railroad minute track to the exterior with the hour markers to the sector inside. The markers are a gold foil tone which catches the light and shines beautifully Below 12 o’clock is the Tissot ‘long T’ logo in the stylised font. Below is the ‘Antimagnetique’ signing proudly stated. The sub-second sits at 6 o’clock with the same sector layout with the champagne outer section and salmon centre. It has the grained concentric circles with provide texture. The sub-second hand is a stylish dagger lozenge/dagger design which is a neat touch. The hour and minute hands are the gold tone of leaf style.
The case is a neatly proportioned gents piece. It measures 31.4mm wide x 34.5mm long. It has a slim depth of just 9mm which gives it a slim profile. The total lug-to-lug measurement sits at 38mm.
The design of these compact tool watch cases by Tissot combines both form and function. It has the notched bezel which is stepped, holding the crystal. The lugs taper both inwards and downwards towards the wrist. They have the bevelled outer section which reflects the light. To the right is the chunky crown which is easy to use. The sides of the case have the original brushed finish which breaks up the watch nicely. The screw back is signed with the Tissot name. It has the clear serial number and proudly boasts its features ‘Non magnetic, waterproof, shock absorber’.
Inside it is signed ‘Acier Inoxydable’ and ‘Brevet’ for the patent.
The movement is protected by the original metal dust cap which has helped protect it over the years. It is a Tissot calibre 27-3 which is manually wound, with a jewel count of 17. It also benefits from shock proofing which makes it sturdier. It has been recently serviced and is keeping accurate time to within 15 second variation a day, with a strong amplitude.
The watch is modelled on a 7” wrist circumference.

Dial:
The dial is in strong original condition. It has some speckled ageing. The colours and bright and mostly even with the clear signing. The 1 o'clock marker has some deterioration.
Hands:
The hands are in strong original condition. They have some light spotted corrosion. They are free of bending.
Glass:
The acrylic crystal is a replacement in very good condition with no marking.
Crown:
The crown is original and has light marking associated with age. It works well.
Case:
The case is in good condition with the original finishes. It has light marking, mostly to the polished finishes.
Caseback:
The case back is in good condition with only light marking.
Leather:
The leather strap is a modern replacement.
Movement:
The movement is a Tissot calibre 27-3. It is manual wind and benefits from shock proofing.
It has been recently serviced and is keeping accurate time to within -20 seconds a day, with an amplitude of 315 degrees and a beat error of 0.1 m/s.
