Here we have a lovely little 1934 Omega watch which was retailed by Pleasance & Harper in Bristol. It has the neat 30.5mm Nickel case with the snap-on front, hinged case back and wire lugs. The white enamel dial is bright, with the classic roman numeral hour markers. It has the Omega signing below 12 with the retailer co-signing below. The sub-second dial is inset and has the classic railroad layout. The hands are the beautiful spade and whip style with the thermally blued tone and the sub-second hand is of a standout style. The rear of the case has a brushed finish and inside it is signed with the Omega logo. The movement is the Omega calibre 26.5 SOB which is manually wound and has a jewel count of 15. It has been recently serviced and is keeping accurate time.

We love classic designs of watches such as this, and one element that is particularly enjoyable is the clean enamel dial. It is the bright white tone with the railroad minute track around the exterior. It has the classic black roman numeral hour markers which are clear and legible despite the watch being on the smaller side. Below 12 O’clock it is signed with the Omega logo and name, with ‘Pleasance & Harper, Bristol’ retailer co-signing below. The sub-seconds dial is inset into the dial with the classic railroad layout mirroring the minute track. It has the Arabic numerals for the ten second markers and dashes for the 5 second graduations. The hour and minute hand are of spade and whip style and have a beautiful curvature and deep thermally blued tone. The sub-second hand is also thermally blued and is of a standout diamond dagger style, which is really enjoyable. It also makes it a clear seconds hand which further aids legibility.

The case is on the petite side, measuring 30.5mm x 30.5mm. It has a total lug to lug length of 32mm with the curved wire lugs. The depth is slim, sitting close to 9mm which makes it a comfortable wear. The lug width is well sized at 18mm which adds to the presence of the watch with the larger strap size.

The case is formed of nickel and has the snap-on bezel to the front. To the top and bottom of the case are the wire lugs which curve around the case, holding the strap. To the right-hand side is the coin edge crown which is a later replacement. The case back is hinged and seals tightly. Inside it is signed with the Omega logo and serial number.

The movement is the Omega calibre 26.5 SOB which is manually wound and has a jewel count of 15. It is marked as adjusted to two positions and has the art deco stylised ‘Omega’ signing. It has been recently serviced and is keeping good time to within one minute variation per day.

Co-signed Omega watches are a lovely thing to have within a collection, particularly if you are from or live in the city.

The watch is modelled on a 7” wrist circumference.
