1930s 14k Solid Gold Bulova tank watch, Rectangular shape, Bulova 6AE, Serviced.
A recently serviced Bulova 6AE movement, with 17 jewels and a power reserve of 34 hours. Keeping time to +18 seconds a day.
 
This is a beautiful and rare wristwatch by Bulova. Collectors of American watches will know that gold filled cases are common, with solid gold reserved for special timepieces.
 
This has particularly lovely engraving on the bezel, in good condition. The case is neatly curved to fit the wrist in a snug manner. The numerals are of an Art Deco Egyptian revival style, with a classier font.
The movement has beens serviced and is in very good condition. 6.5g of 14k gold.

Dial: 
The dial shows it's age but it is quite a pleasant patina for a vintage watch. The left hand side of the dial, outside of the track, shows a dark green colouration. Overall some darker speckling on the dial.
 
Hands: 
The hour hand appears to be original with the minute hand probably being a replacement as it is slightly short.
 
Glass: 
The original curved glass is in excellent condition.
 
Crown: 
The crown is a later replacement, non-Bulova signed. The crown fits flush to the case.
 
Case: 
The case is 14k solid gold. It has beautiful engraving on the bezel in very good condition. With only light surface scratching overall and un-polished. There are some dented marks on the outside of the lugs at the 12 O'clock end. Please see this in the photos.
 
Caseback: 
A solid 14k gold case back in very good condition, with no deep scratches or dents, only light surface scratching and some wear of the writing on the back due to contact with the wrist.
 
Strap: 
A new 16mm genuine leather strap, NOS vintage strap.
 
Movement: 
A recently serviced Bulova 6AE movement, with 17 jewels and a power reserve of 34 hours. Keeping time to +18 seconds a day with an amplitude of 316 and a beat error of 1.5m/s.
