A very scarce Waltham Tonneau Enamel gents Art Deco wristwatch in solid 14ct white gold, with Black enamel inlaid numerals, from 1930. This model of Waltham has an excellent Tonneau shaped case, measuring 34mm long by 28mm wide, which makes it wear very well on the wrist. The circular bezel is a charming touch containing fancy Art Deco numerals which are inlaid in black enamel.
 
The tracks and Waltham name are also black inlaid enamel. The watch original cost $70.00 in 1930. This example is in a good original condition for its age, having also been recently serviced. There is some light marking on the dial, whilst the enamel inlay on the bezel is also very good for the age.
 
The movement is the correct 15 jewel Waltham Sapphire grade, manual wind movement, which has been serviced.

Dial: 
The dial is in good condition for the age of the watch and is original. The tracks and Waltham name are black inlaid enamel and are clear.
 
Hands: 
The hands minute hand is original, whilst the hour hand is very close to original but appears to be a replacement. They are thermally blued and the tone differs slightly between the hour and minute hand. The sub-second hand is original, meeting the margins of the sub-dial well. 
 
Glass: 
The crystal is a replacement which fits the profile of the watch perfectly, with a slight facet to the edge. It is in perfect condition.
 
Crown: 
The crown appears to be original and is in good condition, with a coin edge finish. 
 
Bezel:
The bezel has a polished finish and is formed of 14ct gold. It is in good condition, especially the enamel which remains unblemished.
 
Case:
The front of the case is formed of 14ct gold and has a polished finish. The watch appears original and untouched. It has only light surface scratching.
 
The rear of the case is in good condition. It has some nicks and light surface scratching, but is perfectly good for the age, having not been polished.
 
Caseback:
The case back is formed of 14ct gold and is in good condition. It has a polished finish which would appear original. There is only light surface scratching.
 
The inside of the case back is signed “Waltham Wadsworth quality, 14 karat solid gold, 1328964”.
 
Strap: 
The strap is a genuine lizard strap which is signed Tiffany & Co. It is a very comfy strap in excellent condition.
 
Movement: 
The movement is the correct 15 jewel Waltham Sapphire grade, manual wind movement.
 
The movement has been recently serviced. The balance does have wear which prevents the timekeeping being exemplary. It has a daily gain of +147 seconds, with an amplitude of 210 degrees and a beat error of 4.4 m/s.
