1929 Vintage rare Art Deco Illinois Ace watch, American vintage, all original.

 

The case measures 30mm x 30mm with a drug width of 37mm.

 
This is a beautiful example in terms of it's condition, but it will require a service to work well.
 
Also known as the maxine or the Wayne. The name Ace was from the early jobber adverts from American jewellers.
 
The case is Illinois Watch Case Co., Elgin, Spartan, Nickel, Size 3/0. This case composition is medium in rarity for the model.
The case is Nickel composition, with engraved bezel, sides and plain lugs.
 
Powered by a 17 jewel variant grade which will require a service to work well, however it is keeping time to +100 seconds a day.
 
The dial is painted luminous and the hands are luminous. The dial has a silver finish with Cross-like wreath design centre which increases appeal and collectability.
 
The watch has a retail price of $42.50 in 1927. The marketing tag line was "Style can be seen at a glance, but quality is the hidden value".

The hands are steel, thermally blued and are in excellent condition with original lume in-fill.

A case that is free of wear, no large scratches or dints in the watch.
 
Caseback:
Maintains original graining still, light surface scratching.
 
Movement:
The movement is currently running approximately +100 seconds fast a day, with a low amplitude of 190 degrees.
