This early Rolex tank watch is from 1924 and is formed of 9ct gold. The case measures 23mm wide, by 30mm in length, with a lug to lug measurement of 37mm. This makes it wear well, either on a male or female wrist. The case is well designed, with a bevel on the bezel which holds the crystal. The dial is of silver tone and is an older restoration.

The front of the case is formed of 9ct yellow gold. It is nicely sized and elegant. It is bevelled on the bezel, with flat, polished sides. The lugs are neat and turn inwards.

The case back is made of 9ct yellow gold. It is in good condition with only light surface scratching. It is signed with the number 32 and the reference 6401.

The inside of the case back has circular peerlage and is signed R.W.C. Ltd, with hallmarking from Glasgow assay office for 9ct gold, dating to 1924.

The dial appears to be an older restoration, carried out to an excellent quality. The dial has a subtle guilloche textured finish, which appears to be less visible after the dial restoration.

The dial is of silver tone, whilst it has some patina to the centre.

It has a simple railroad hour track around the exterior, whilst the Arabic numerals are clear.

The hands are original. They are thermally blued and are in good condition.

The crystal is a replacement which fits the profile of the watch perfectly. It is in perfect condition.

The crown appears to be a later replacement. It is in good condition and it has a coin edge finish.

The strap is made of black leather. It is fixed with metal tabs for fixed lugs.

The movement is of good quality for the period with 15 jewels, adjusted to 6 positions. The crown wheel has two screws, whilst the ratchet wheel is engraved Rolex Patent. The movement has been recently serviced.
