This is a circa 1920s classic tonneau shaped wristwatch, with exaggerated Arabic numerals. The case is formed of 14k gold and is subtly curved to the wrist, with curved sides. The case is well proportioned, measuring 24mm x 38.5mm, with a lug-to-lug measurement of 43mm. The crown is a beautiful onion crown, which is original to the watch, whilst the hand set is thermally blued in cathedral style, classic within the era. Inside is a well-designed 15 jewel Swiss lever movement. The watch is a decent timekeeper, with a daily gain of 3 minutes.
The case is made of 14k gold. It is tonneau shaped and is large in size for the era. The case is subtly curved to fit the wrist. It has a polished finish, with light surface scratching. The case back is made of 14k gold and is hinged. It is in good condition, with no dents or obvious signs of damage. There is light surface scratching consistent with age. The inside of the case back has a polished finish, with perlage to the centre. It is hallmarked with Swiss marks for 14k gold. It is signed G.B. and the serial number is 559252.
The dial is in very good condition, having been restored. The dial is a champagne tone which shines subtly in the light. The hour and minute markers are on a Tonneau shaped track towards the centre of the dial, with Large, exaggerated Arabic numerals. These are in-filled with modern lume.
The hands are thermally blued in tone and are in good condition. They are of Cathedral style. They have some of the original radium lume in-fill, which has suffered loss with age.
The crystal is a replacement and is in average condition with some than light surface scratches.
The crown is original and is in good condition. It is a beautiful onion crown of the era which really catches the eye. It functions as it should, winding the watch and setting the hands.
The strap is a vintage brown leather strap, with metal fold over tabs for fixed lugs. It is in decent worn condition.
