1940's Military (Civil Service) issued Leonidas stainless watch M.W.co movement, 15 jewels lever escapement.
The CS(I) mark is for civil service issue in India, provided by the UK.
This is a small, but VERY attractive watch, with a case that reminds me of a 40's Rolex case. The dial is very striking with its mix of baton hour markers and arabic 9, 12 and 3.
The dial is very clear considering its age. There is no fading to the writing, second and minute tracks and hour markers.
The stainless case was designed to survive the rigors of service and looks very good for its age too.
The movement is a bit of an enigma with many internet forums trying to identify these movements marked M.W.Co in CS(I) issue Leonidas watches...
The case width measures 29.3mm x 29.3mm. The case with is 32mm with crown.
The lug to lug measurement is 36.3mm
The case depth is 10mm
The watch is freshly serviced.
